The K’s at The Bullingdon, Oxford: Stripped Back, Still Electric
Last night The K’s brought their “Pretty On The Internet" Stripped Back show to The Bullingdon in Oxford, offering fans a rare, intimate glimpse of the Merseyside indie powerhouse. Fresh off a huge show at London’s Roundhouse just two nights earlier and a busy festival run this summer, this was a chance to see the band in a much smaller, more personal setting.

The evening was all about celebrating their new album, Pretty On The Internet (out June 27), and the stripped-back format gave the songs a new kind of vulnerability. The set was short and sweet - just six tracks - but each one landed with real impact. They opened with Icarus and Gravestone, both delivered with a rawness that suited the close quarters of The Bullingdon. Chancer and Hoping Maybe followed, with frontman Jamie Boyle’s vocals shining through, and Heart on My Sleeve and Helen, Oh I rounded out the set, leaving the crowd wanting more.

It was clear the band were itching to let loose - Nathan’s drumming in particular looked like it was taking all his willpower not to go full throttle. The whole group seemed to be holding back just enough to fit the stripped-back vibe, but you could feel the energy simmering under the surface.

After just 30 minutes, the music wrapped up and the band stuck around for a meet and greet and signing, making sure every fan got a moment. For those of us who’ve seen The K’s light up festival stages, this was a special, up-close experience - proof that their songs and personalities shine just as brightly, even when the amps are dialed down.
Viva la K’s!
