Big Feastival 2024 - Friday - Live Review
Alex James’ Farm, The Cotswolds
The Big Feastival 2024 kicked off on Friday with a perfect blend of music, food, and family fun, all set against the stunning backdrop of Alex James’ farm in the Cotswolds. The atmosphere was buzzing as festival-goers arrived, ready to dive into the weekend’s festivities. With dry weather and a lineup packed with talent, the first day set the tone for what would be an unforgettable weekend.
The day began with 86TVs, whose fresh indie sound provided the perfect start to the festival. Their upbeat energy got the crowd moving early, while families explored the festival grounds. For us, the kids were immediately drawn to Lizzie’s Way Wild Play, where they spent hours in the mud kitchens and crafting stations, fully embracing the festival’s family-friendly vibe.

Later in the afternoon, Ash took to the stage, delivering their signature rock sound with classics like Girl From Mars. Their set was a nostalgic treat for long-time fans and a great introduction for newer listeners.

As the sun began to set, Natasha Bedingfield brought her pop hits to life with songs like Unwritten and These Words. A particularly touching moment came when she brought her son on stage, sitting with him as she sang—a heartwarming scene that melted the crowd.

The food offerings were as much a highlight as the music. We opted for Nanny Bill’s burger and chips, which were juicy, flavorful, and exactly what we needed to fuel up for the evening ahead.
As the night progressed, Circa Waves turned up the energy with indie anthems like T-Shirt Weather, getting the crowd singing along.

Joel Corry’s DJ set transformed the festival into a massive dance part.

But it was Becky Hill who stole the show. Her powerhouse vocals on hits like Better Off Without You and Remember had the crowd roaring, and a surprise duet with Natasha Bedingfield was the cherry on top.

To round off the night, we made a quick stop at Alex James’ Cheese Hub, where Judge Jules was spinning tracks in what felt like a posh barn rave. The crowd was in high spirits, and it was the perfect way to end the first day.
Friday at Big Feastival 2024 was a vibrant start to the weekend, blending incredible performances, delicious food, and family-friendly fun. With the bar set high, we couldn’t wait to see what Saturday would bring.
