Big Feastival 2023 - Sunday - Live Review
Alex James’ Farm, The Cotswolds
Sunday brought us back to Alex James’ farm for the final day of Big Feastival 2023, and this time the whole family was in tow. The festival’s family-friendly atmosphere was evident from the moment we arrived, with activities like the Little Dudes’ Den keeping the kids entertained all day. From race cars to circus tents and the Parents Pitstop with its excellent baby-changing facilities, the festival truly caters to families.

The day kicked off with The K’s, whose energetic indie rock sound got the crowd moving early. Formed in Earlestown in 2017, the four-piece band delivered a high-energy set that earned them new fans and delighted long-time followers. Tracks like Sarajevo and Dominoes sounded even better live, and it was great to finally see them perform.

Mae Muller followed in a dazzling red dress, bringing soulful vocals and catchy pop tunes to the stage. Known for her Eurovision 2023 entry and debut single Jenny, Muller had the crowd dancing along and showcased her growing star power.

Next up was Melanie C, who brought her iconic pop sound to the festival. Best known as Sporty Spice from the Spice Girls, Melanie C mixed solo hits with Spice Girls classics, delivering a performance full of nostalgia and energy.

Rick Astley took the stage next, delighting the crowd with his timeless hits. Tracks like Never Gonna Give You Up had everyone singing along, and Astley’s humor and charisma shone through as he engaged with the audience. A sign in the front row suggested Rick should be Prime Minister, to which he jokingly replied, “Who would want that job?”

Away from the main stage, we spent more time exploring the Little Dudes’ Den, which truly sets Big Feastival apart as a family-friendly event. The activities and facilities make it easy for families to enjoy the festival without stress, and the kids loved every moment.
Closing out the festival were Blossoms, whose infectious indie pop sound was the perfect way to end the weekend. Tracks like Your Girlfriend, Honey Sweet, and Charlemagne kept the crowd dancing until the very last note.

Big Feastival 2023 was a resounding success, combining great music, delicious food, and family-friendly fun in a way that few festivals can match. From Friday’s high-energy performances to Sunday’s family-focused activities, the festival delivered something for everyone.
We still have a few areas of the festival left to explore, and we’re already looking forward to returning next year to tick off all the boxes. If you’re looking for a weekend filled with top-notch entertainment and mouth-watering cuisine, Big Feastival should definitely be on your calendar for 2024!
