Friday at Truck Festival 2023 saw the gates open to the masses, with the site filling up with festival-goers eager to immerse themselves in the music and escape the outside world. Truck’s welcoming atmosphere and diverse lineup made it the perfect place to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.

The day began on the Truck Stage with The Covasettes, whose catchy indie tunes provided a lively start to the afternoon. Luke La Volpe followed, surprising the crowd with his powerful vocals and charming Scottish accent - definitely one to watch.

Somebodies Child & Modern Love both drew big crowds.

Over at The Nest, Lambrini Girls delivered one of the most memorable sets of the weekend. After playing just one song on stage, they jumped into the audience, dictating mosh pits and handing the microphone to fans while continuing to play. Their chaotic energy and crowd interaction made for an unforgettable experience.

Mae Muller wowed crows on the main stage.

Back on the Main Stage, Kate Nash brought her signature charm, immediately heading to the barrier to sing her first song before diving into the crowd. Her set ended with Foundations, with the entire audience singing along - a true festival moment.

The Market Stage hosted standout performances from Red Rum Club, Wunderhorse, and The Reytons. Red Rum Club, returning to Truck for the third time, delivered their usual crowd-pleasing set, while Wunderhorse’s raw energy and The Reytons’ explosive entrance to Red Smoke kept the audience engaged.

The Vaccines were another highlight of the day, delivering a blistering set of rock’n’roll anthems on the Truck Stage. Tracks like Wreckin’ Bar (Ra Ra Ra), Teenage Icon, and If You Wanna had the crowd singing along, creating a euphoric atmosphere.

Friday’s headliners, Two Door Cinema Club, closed the day with a spectacular show on the Truck Stage. The Northern Irish band played hits like Something Good Can Work, What You Know, and Sun, spanning over a decade of indie-dance music. Their infectious beats and melodies had the crowd dancing and clapping along, ending the day on a high note.
