Truck Festival 2022 - Friday - Live Review
Hill Farm, Oxfordshire
Friday at Truck Festival 2022 was a day packed with incredible performances and memorable moments. The day began with a chance to explore some of the smaller stages, where Beach Riot delivered a lively set on The Nest. Over on The Market Stage, Yard Act proved why they’re one of the most exciting new bands around, with a performance that had the crowd hooked from start to finish.
After grabbing a bite to eat (a festival favorite, Return of the Mac), we headed to the main stage to catch Spector. The band commented on the size of the crowd, calling it one of the biggest they’d ever played to. Their set was full of energy, with a particularly quirky moment during Chevy Thunder when they paused for someone to perform fingerboarding on the big screen—a bizarre but entertaining interlude that the crowd loved.

Sea Girls followed, drawing a huge crowd of screaming fans as Henry Camamile and the band delivered a set packed with indie anthems.

Then came one of the weekend’s standout performances: Sigrid. The Norwegian pop sensation lit up the main stage with a hit-filled set, including Bad Life, Strangers, and Mirror. Even a sudden rain shower couldn’t dampen the crowd’s spirits, as they sang along to every word.

A quick dash to The Market Stage allowed us to catch Sundara Karma’s crowd-pleaser She Said before heading back to the main stage for Friday’s headliners Bombay Bicycle Club. The guitar-heavy outfit delivered a polished and energetic performance, revisiting classics like Always Like This alongside newer material. It was a fantastic way to end the day, showcasing why Bombay Bicycle Club remain one of the UK’s most beloved indie bands.
